Produced from a blend of the best Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Oger and Mesnil-sur-Oger), the prestigious Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is the masterpiece of Taittinger.
The 2007 vintage of the Comtes de Champagne was aged 9 years on lees (5% of the blend spent 4 months in oak barrels to give it more roundness and a characteristic toasted touch), and was disgorged with a dosage of 9g/L.
In the glass, Champagne Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2007 shows a magnificent golden colour with orangey tints.
Opulent and intense, it opens with a bouquet of ripe fruit, chalk and iodine, as well as a touch of brioche that is as discreet as it is elegant.
On the palate, Champagne Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2007 shows all its best: clear, fresh and elegant, it expresses great refinement and noble sensuality. After a moderately full-bodied attack, the 2007 vintage offers a round mid-palate. Aromas of yellow and white juicy fruits mingle with toasty notes in perfect harmony, supported by a silky texture and lively effervescence.
The finish is intense and clean, distilling persistent mineral and salty notes, confirming its good ageing potential.
Champagne Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2007 will be ideal for a refined aperitif accompanied by fish or cheese-based appetizers.
