SPECIAL VATTING PEATY MALT WHISKEY is a blend of three single malts over 12 years old. Its framework is made – of a very ripe and very concentrated whiskey (generally in Oloroso casks) – of a younger whiskey, more iodized and peaty which allows to bring freshness and more expression – and ‘a third whiskey (fine and subtle) which achieves the balance and consistency of this blend. The depth and spicy richness of whiskeys aged in sherry casks (Oloroso) are revealed by the iodine freshness of young saline whiskeys. After assembly, its natural degree being around 53%, it is very slightly reduced to 45% alcohol. Amber hue, ruby reflections, dark background. Scent of Jerez wine, leather, fine tobacco, fruit wood. With a silky, powerful and long palate. The expression of a very controlled peat which allows, all in discretion, to sublimate the roundness and richness of whiskeys aged in Oloroso barrels. Extremely long and complex, it is consumed as a digestif, chambered, and can be a wonderful cigar companion.
