n the beginning, it was the Tenuta dell’Ornellaia that produced Masseto. Today Masseto is an estate in its own right and the place that symbolizes it is a winery located in the center of the 13 hectares of vineyards (which produce a total of 33,000 bottles), from which the sumptuous Merlot in purity is historically born. The 2019 version is, as usual, monumental, especially in a particularly significant year in the Bolgheri area. On the nose, a luxuriant fruitiness triumphs, to say the least, flanked by intense toasted notes of spices, graphite and balms. In the mouth, the entry is broad and warm, full and ripe development, with a dense and pawing tannic texture, which flows into a very long final persistence.
