Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar, Chateau Musar is located in Bekaa Valley, 24 km from Beirut, where the wine culture goes more than 6,000 years back. Despite the civil war that struck the country between 1975 and 1990, thanks to the determination of Serge Hochar, oenlogist and owner who died in 2014, only the 1976 and 1984 harvests were lost. The two bottles of this commemorative case are from 1989, a mythical and exceptional vintage, with a dry winter followed by a soft summer. A very tough vintage in which the winery was even an anti-aircraft shelter. Chateau Musar 1989 is made exclusively with Cariñena from a single vineyard, an exception outside the usual coupages. Fine, delicate, elegant and very long. Chateau Musar White 1989 is made from the Obaideh and Merwah native grapes. A golden amber wine hazelnut, honeysuckle and quince aromas on the nose. Structured, full-bodied and opulent. Two wines that demonstrate the high aging capacity during decades of the wines of Chateau Musar and that continue increasing the legend of this family pioneer in the development and recognition of the wines of Lebanon.
